I’m a patient
Fewer avoidable hospital trips, screenings kept on track, and a real choice of quality specialists — switching takes one phone call.
For Providers
Too often, medical groups view their participating doctors as forces needing to be policed, rather than as collaborators in the care of shared patients. Providers and office staff don't need policing — they need inspiration and support. When we recommend a path to success, it's because we practice it ourselves and have found it works.
Mutual success is through friendship and partnership
The only way to the top is through rising together
Be the example you want others to become
Aim first to do good, and then the business will follow
Tell the truth and be transparent
Don't be annoying
Inspire and don't insult
Say sorry for mistakes and fix them
Being the best requires starting from humility
Listen and don't lecture
Be in constant pursuit of improvement
Winning together requires sharing, not selfishness
Uplift and don't undermine
Ask for God's blessings on us and our practices
For physicians · how the partnership works
Higher reimbursement, a real share of the hospital risk pool, and a relationship that doesn’t feel transactional — built on partnership, not extraction.
The funds an IPA is at risk for — mostly hospitalizations. The surplus is shared with the primary care physician based on performance. Most IPAs keep it. We share it.We’ll walk you through the full, transparent schedule when we talk.
For Patients
Virtue IPA increases the value of your care by contracting strong primary care providers trained specifically to address the common problems in healthcare.
No one wants a hospital or emergency department visit when it can be prevented — long waits and a draining experience. Our providers are trained and given concrete strategies to prevent avoidable hospitalizations and ED visits whenever possible.
The standard of care means staying on top of screenings — colon cancer screenings, mammograms, and more. Tracking them across large patient panels is hard, so we give practices the support to get our patients' screenings done.
HMO coverage doesn't have to feel restrictive. We sought out high-quality specialists with dependable reputations — and multiple specialists per field — so patients have genuine philosophical and medical fit.
For patients · switching is one call
Choose a Virtue primary care office near you to be your new primary care physician (PCP).
Use the member-services number on the back of your insurance card and ask to change your PCP.
Give them your new provider’s name and group — Virtue IPA. The change usually takes effect the first of the next month.
“Hi — I’d like to change my primary care physician to [provider name] with Virtue IPA, effective the first of next month.”
Value-based care has a twofold meaning. As the phrase is typically used in healthcare, it means cost-effective practices that produce good outcomes. But value-based care can never stray from the core concept of value — that human life is intrinsically valuable. Any conception of value in a cost-savings sense must be secondary to, and derivative of, the value of human life.
We're unique in giving our providers a rigorous curriculum that develops a clinical intuition aligned with value-based care.
